Near Luxor (later called Thebes by the Greeks) are tombs of many of the pharoahs. Luxor was the political center of what is called the Middle Kingdom of Egypt, still thousands of years old. As time went on, the center of power moved south to Aswan...........in the Old Kingdom, Memphis in the north was the home of rulers. We visit the Valley of the Kings, and Valley of the Queens.
